Director Patty Jenkins pushed back on rumors that she was from the Wonder Woman 3 project, say on Twitter that there was “nothing” she could do to “promote anything right now”. Jenkins instead blames the movie’s cancellation on the massive restructuring going on at Warner Bros. after the merger with Discovery.

“I never ran away. I was open to whatever was asked of me,” explains Jenkins. “DC is clearly buried in changes they need to make, so I understand these decisions are hard right now.” Jenkins’ response comes after last week’s report The coverindicating that she has left Wonder Woman 3 after rejecting the studio notes about her treatment.

Jenkins also addresses the speculation circulating about the Star Wars spinoff Rogue Squadron, which was pulled from Disney’s release schedule in September. But Jenkins says she’s still working on the project and originally left the project to work on Wonder Woman 3.

“Lucasfilm asked me to consider returning to RS after WW3, which I was honored to do, so I agreed,” writes Jenkins. “They made a new deal with me. In fact, I’m still working on it and that project has been in active development ever since.”

“I don’t know if it will or not,” she notes. “We won’t do that until the development process is complete, but I look forward to the future potential.”
